When imagining how Crucible would become the rightful exclamation mark to end the Elixir trilogy, Diesel brand manager, Justin Andrews and master blender, A.J. Fernandez knew the key to success was creating a perfectly-bold melting pot of straight-up powerhouse tobaccos. And not just in strength, this thing needed to be dressed to the nines in a wrapper that really only someone like A.J. could bring to life.

They immediately flew to Nicaragua, knowing their volcanic-rich soils were the only ones formidable enough to host such a blazing concoction of tobaccos.
“If there’s one thing Crucible does, it shows the power of time. We did three things all involving more time. The Habano wrapper tobacco was planted earlier than normal. We chose top primings during harvest, giving the wrapper leaf more time in the sun. And we triple fermented the tobacco which all led to a stronger leaf.” -Justin Andrews
